The Tomer Shapira Collection

Every collector does things differently. Some collect it all, some focus on sizes, some focus on species, and some focus on localities….or some combination of it all.
Tomer Shapira has 3 major focuses in his collecting: Pegmatites, the Tourmaline group of minerals, and Corundum geology. Anything else in the collection exists for one reason: its a cool rock. There is an attempt made to keep the collection strict to those focuses, but hey, who can resist a good rock sometimes?

Aesthetically, there is a major focus on size and associations. Crystals on matrix with multiple associations if possible are strongly preferred. Additionally, the size range is preferably within larger miniatures to cabinet sized pieces.
Exceptions are made for very special reasons, or simply because something is too good to resist. We all slip occasionally….sometimes more often than not.
